TRacking Adolescents’ Individual Lives Survey
TRAILS (Tracking Adolescents' Individual Lives Survey) is an ongoing, multidisciplinary research on the psychological, social and physical development of adolescents and young adults.
TRAILS Research
More than 2500 participants participate in TRAILS, since their tenth or eleventh year. For over 20 years, these participants have been examined every 2 to 3 years, through questionnaires, interviews, tests or physical measurements.
Not only the participants have provided us with information, but also their family members, teachers and partners.
TRAILS NEXT is an add-on study that focuses on the children of the participants. This study involves assessments of parent and/or children during pregnancy, and when the children are 3, 30, 54 and 72 months old. TRAILS NEXT will help to understand how parental characteristics influence the development of their children.
